Breathe out poetry Tuesdays

I’ve just bought Leonard’s new CD – Old Ideas – and while I’ve only listened to it twice, I know I’m going to love it. I  already love it.

But here’s the thing for me about Leonard – the longer I listen, the more I learn, the more I appreciate the way he weaves the music and lyrics together.

I have a favorite Leonard CD – my go to CD of all times – I’m Your Man – and on that CD there is a song I love more than anything. It’s called Take This Waltz. Here are four lines to show you what I mean, though without the music – it’s only half as beautiful.

And I’ll dance with you in Vienna,
I’ll be wearing a river’s disguise.
The hyacinth wild on my shoulder
my mouth on the dew of your thighs.

Now that’s erotic.
