Breathe out poetry Tuesdays

Breathe-in experience, breathe-out poetry
~ Muriel Rukeyser

I’m taking this quote as my guide to poetry Tuesdays. All writers are, at some time or another, poets. We can’t seem to help it. I often write poetry because I’m fascinated by a phrase or a picture or… almost anything, really.

Starting here:

The Scholar’s Room at SAM

The scholar’s room
I want to be there
To work
to think
to rest
The simple shapes of wood
The silence of solitude
The flickering light of lanterns

And a single pen
A sheet of paper
Empty
And waiting.
