Interview with Mahalia Levey

1.         Tell us a little bit about yourself. How does your day go? What keeps you writing?

My name is Mahalia Levey. I’ve been a published author for two years. I began writing for fun on a yahoo forum. A editor for a ebpub emailed me asking why I was giving away my stories for free and asked if I’d like a challenge to publish for a company. I laughed because writing had then always been a hobby. I had no technical training or the know how to put all the pieces together for a full story. Mine were more like mini serials that never ended but evolved into a larger story. I said yes and have been writing since. I’m published by Phaze, Eirelander Publishing, Beautiful Trouble Publishing,eXtasy Books, Liquid Silver Books, Decadent Publishing and Secret Cravings Publishing.

I write Contemporary, African American Romance, Interracial Romance,BDSM,Military Romance, Paranormal Romance and working on a Sci Fi world build.

2.         What brought you to writing erotica? What do you love about it?

I write erotic romance. The heat levels vary. My definition of erotica is a plot that focuses on a sexual journey or path. I write spicy romance where emotional growth ties into physical intimacy as well.

3.         What are you working on now?

I’m finishing up Tarun’s Symphony and working on Indulgence with a home in mind for it upon completion.

4.         What is your—or your character’s—favorite erotic book? Sexy movie? Sex toy?

I am a big fan of Kate Douglas Wolf Tales series and Laurann Dohner’s Cyborg Seduction series., Sexy movie? Sliver and I love thick water proof vibrators.

5.         What’s the one thing you’ve always wanted to do? The top thing on your personal bucket list?

I don’t have a bucket list. Maybe I should make one. I’ve led an amazing life up to date done a lot of crazy in my day 🙂 I’d really like to do something that matters that’s profound to someone else before I kick it.

6.         What’s your personal romantic (or erotic) fantasy?

To be taken by a stranger with a hooded mask and ravaged. No talking just break in and do me rough. We can talk after.

I’m promoting my new release The Price of Defiance

 Excerpt: PG13

“Saint, I’m in big trouble.” Amy gripped the cell tightly to her ear. “I’m at Truman Memorial Hospital, about to be taken to jail.” She started to sob when reality dawned on her.

“Thank God, you’re alive. I’ve been going out of my mind since the link to the wreck was sent to my cell phone. Sit tight. We’ve been fielding police and the media, trying to protect your professional name. Sis, Alejandro demanded to be the one to handle the situation.”

“I’m sorry for scaring you.” Her brother and his team of misfits were all she had while growing up. Being named after their country of conception and proved just how zany her family was. Saint Vincent got his name chopped in half to Saint. “Is this going to hurt your business?”

“No. Alejandro will make sure you have a smooth transaction. I’m forwarding him your info now. Sit still and relax. Can’t have the baby of the family locked up and forgotten.”

She winced at the thought of seeing Alejandro again after so long. Her voice dropped an octave. “Can’t you come? I haven’t seen him since—”

“Miss, we’re ready to transport you to the police department,” Officer Blake interrupted.

“I gotta go.” Amy snapped the phone shut and handed it back to the officer. He was kind enough to leave, allowing her to change into the scrubs they’d sent for. She rapped and opened the door after toeing into the slip-on canvas shoes. “I’m ready.” Head dropped low, she allowed them to escort her to the jailhouse that was a ten-minute ride away.

Being booked took longer than she’d expected, and it mortified her. A nifty machine imprinted her fingerprints electronically after they took her mug shot. The issue with her identification became clear once she had a chance to speak and separate her professional identity from her personal one. When they finished processing her fingerprints and mug shot, she followed them through general population and looked at all the criminals on the way to her holding cell. The door buzzed and opened, and she was ushered in. She cast a glance at the officer, who shook his head, locked the door, and turned his back.

 I’m not a criminal.
